Pediatric care
Your children's health and well-being is one of your top priorities. It's one of our top priorities, too. From just a few days after birth all the way through adolescence and beyond, Novant Health Primary Care Salisbury is here to provide the remarkable medical attention your children deserve.
Sick-child care
When you child is sick, you want them to feel better quickly. We reserve same-day and next-day appointments for sick patients so you can receive a quick diagnosis and prompt treatment when necessary for your child. We also offer basic lab testing in our office so you will not need to visit another location or make an additional appointment if routine lab work is required for your child's diagnosis.
Well-child care
Regularly scheduled preventive care is one of the best things you can do to keep your child healthy as well as to ensure growth and development stays on track. Well-child checkups give your child's provider a chance to identify any minor concerns before they become larger problems. Typical well-child checkups happen at the following ages:
- Within the first week of hospital discharge
- Two weeks
- One month
- Two months
- Four months
- Six months
- Nine months
- One year
- 15 months
- 18 months
- 2 years
- 2.5 years
- 3 years
- Annually after age three
Well-child checkups can include checks of height and weight; checks of heart and respiratory function; visual examination of the eyes, ears and throat; and time to discuss development or behavior issues, or any other concerns.
Vaccinations are also given at well-child checkups. Our office follows the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommended vaccine schedule (below). If you have any questions about vaccinations, please feel free to ask them to anyone in our office.
